Reesor Road Restoration – Phase 1
The area restored is approximately 2.5 acres in size. In the spring of 2007, considering that this site was at risk of burning, we planted hardwoods where possible since many can re-sprout if fire damage is not too severe. Conifers were also planted because of the intensity of deer browsing on the site.
Our staff, volunteer leaders, elementary school students, as well as community partners made this restoration possible. The students were particularly keen on volunteering to plant trees in their community as part of an on-going school project focusing on students giving back to the community through various activities.
