Reesor Road Farmland & Floodplain Reforestation: Phase 2
This planting expanded exiting forest along this section of the Little Rouge River. By increasing the forest cover, more interior forest habitat (which is in short supply) was created, which will favour less common wildlife species. The diversity of native flora was also enhanced.
Planting this site will improved the integrity and size of forest linkages in the Little Rouge Corridor. Land which was currently under intensive agriculture was restored to native species.
